Attendance Records for Bad Weather

As you’re probably aware, the weather forecasters are predicting between 5cm and 10cm of snow during the weekend in parts of the South-East. This may lead to school closures or some pupils not being able to attend school even if the school remains open.  Should this happen EiS will receive a lot of calls from schools asking what they should be entering in a pupil’s SIMS Attendance record.  Our immediate advice would be to enter nothing at this early stage.  We are seeking advice from the appropriate local authority teams responsible for monitoring pupil attendance in schools. Once the advice becomes available we will contact schools by email to let them know how their local authority’s attendance policy for bad weather can be best accommodated in SIMS.
