Say Something if you See Something

Kent County Council has joined forces with colleagues from Kent Police, Medway Council, Health and the Kent & Medway Safeguarding Board to form a strong multiagency team spear-heading an initiative known as Operation Willow.

The aim of Operation Willow is to help reduce the child sexual exploitation across Kent and Medway as well as to raise awareness across the county about how we can all play our part in helping vulnerable children.

As an authority we already have professional specialists who work tirelessly to keep children safe but it is not solely their responsibility.

There may be times when you think “I can’t” or “it’s probably nothing …..” but ask yourself this ….
“What if it is something and no one reports it!”

Colleagues in the Operation Willow team would rather receive a hundred calls that lead to nothing than miss one vital piece of information that may help them to change a young person’s life forever.
This does not replace the formal route of referral but rather compliments it and provides us with an opportunity to collect supplementary information which may otherwise not come to light.

You can call 101 quoting Operation Willow, or call the Say Something Helpline, anonymously if you’d prefer, on 116 000.
