Microsoft Office Communicator 2007
As part of the E-mail and communications features of KLZ you can choose to enable Microsoft Office Communicator 2007 to be available to some or all of your staff or students. Like many instant message (IM) solutions available today, you can instantly communicate with other Communicator users and get an instant response. You can use your keyboard, or if you have a microphone and speakers you can chat, and if you have a webcam you can see each other as well.
What’s more you can share information and even share your Windows desktop or a particular document so that you can both work on the same thing at the same time.
Unlike commercially available instant message solutions available elsewhere this is a secure system available only to users inside the KLZ, what’s more, you choose who gets to use this system inside your school.
In a growing number of Kent schools Microsoft Office Communicator 2007 is used to communicate between the school reception and teachers in classes, this has led to a reduction in having to send ‘runners’ between classes and reception and a much faster way to get information around the school.
KLZ Office Communicator 2007 is available as a client that can be installed on your PC, or can be used without installation using the KLZ web service.
