We congratulate the 99% of Kent schools that now use KCN as they realize the benefits of reliability and fast response. Many secondary schools are connected with a 10 Mbps fibre, but this will be upgraded by KCN to a 100 Mbps carrier over this year in response to developing curriculum requirements. The 2 Mbps delivered by KCN over fibre is robust and many primary schools use the Internet with 50 connected at the same time. Some schools, however, are now upgrading their bandwidth to 4 Mbps or 10 Mbps. This site describes the new Kent Public Service Network. KCC has examined the evidence of the major reputable organisations, which all agree that the power levels used are so far below the guidelines that no danger exists.
