Consultancy & Curriculum ICT Project Management
Consultancy
ICT is transforming teaching and learning. This short statement summarises the educational initiatives which have encouraged schools to use ICT in exciting and innovative ways. In such a fast-moving field, selecting the best technical solutions to support a school's curriculum aims can be difficult. Un-informed choices may prove costly.
At EIS, we believe that by working in partnership with schools, the most appropriate ICT solutions can be designed which will help achieve the ICT vision. This consultancy service draws upon the experience of ICT consultants who can offer to schools a balance of technical knowledge and curriculum understanding during the project design. The ability to liaise with ICT suppliers and specialist firms allows EIS to provide hardware, software, networking and room design advice for any particular project. Some of our more recent projects include whole school ICT systems for new building initiatives, incorporating wireless technologies and personal learning systems.
EIS has expanded the consultancy services to include advice to many community ICT initiatives. These ICT drop-in centres often require an innovative design which will attract the local population to explore the new technologies and develop their ICT skills in a supportive environment. EIS is recognised by major suppliers as an important influence in ICT initiatives, and as such, is able to bring new ideas and developments to community learning projects.
Curriculum ICT Project Management
There are several phases to implementing an ICT project. Starting with the schools ICT vision, EIS consultancy services can create a Functional Specification which sets the ICT requirements and Output Specification. In our experience, schools require support in producing a function specification which can be put out to tender. This is likely to include hardware and software requirements, cabling, training and support contracts. Evaluating the suppliers proposals and selecting a preferred partner can be a complex task which EIS can undertake on the school's behalf.
This project design service is available from EIS as a one-stop solution to schools who wish to outsource the project management process. Our costs are based on a day-rate basis for the project completion but you may wish to take advantage of our free initial consultancy to outline your needs. Our full services can include the following components:
- System audit, design brief, functional specification and tendering
- Tender analysis for curriculum, technical and budgetary suitability
- Order management and delivery scheduling
- Commissioning and installation management
- Training and support contracts.
Please feel free to discuss your project ideas with us - why not call to book an initial free consultancy session?
