eisNET is the EIS in-house curriculum desktop solution. It offers controlled user desktops
(pupils are unable to delete or move icons or see system settings); it offers central
home directories and individual logon names. Different keystage years can have their own desktop look. Software can also be installed to workstations via central deployment from the server as long as the software has an MSI (Microsoft Installer).
We are now pleased to announce that a new version of eisNET has been released.
There are many benefits to the new version
including:-
- A new simpler more user friendly interface
- Improved performance from management tools
- A new method of deploying applications including the option to deploy to only one workstation
- Simplified management of network printers and drives
- Enhanced logins that can be customised
- New help system
These improvements have been carried out by a group of EIS technical staff who support the product day-to-day. The number of keystrokes has been reduced greatly to try to make network
administration an easier task. The new version is already working in a number of schools and customer feedback has been good.
