Your Invite to Zak Exploring Radicalisation
A special event hosted by Kent Police, Kent County Council and The University of Kent.
The purpose of the event is to launch a new free product which directly tackles the issue of radicalisation and young people.The product 'Zak' is going to be made available across all secondary schools in Kent from September 2013 for use in PHSE lessons.
Consequently, all head teachers and staff responsible for delivering PHSE from Year 7 upwards are invited to attend.
Windows 8
But which version should you be using?
Windows 8 was launched on 26 October 2012 and comes in four versions:
- Windows 8 – Consumer level
- Windows 8 Pro – Business use
- Windows 8 Enterprise – Similar to Pro with additional features
- Windows RT – ARM-based devices.
The initial release of Windows 8 tablets will use the RT version. This means these tablets will have a limited functionality on a typical school network.
EiS Kent advise schools to go for the Windows 8 Pro version as this will allow domain connectivity and PC management. Read more ...
Please Note: Although it is still to be ratified, Capita Children’s Services who provide SIMS, will not support Windows 8 Pro until April/May 2013.
