SWC Error 5000

This error is caused by an invalid Type/Reason field within the absence area. This is usually as the Self Certificated or Medical Certificated option has been used. This lookup was changed a while ago by Capita and neither of the 2 above options are now valid. The resolution is to go into each absence (probably at the beginning of 2009) and change the Type/Reason option to Sickness. The certificate should be recorded in the ‘certificate’ area of the absence panel.

Error 7010

This is a known issue, the DCSF validation has not been amended to take account of the new ‘Not applicable’ code. If the DCSF choose to issue a revised set of validation files we will make them available.

Error 4385 Destination code must be provided for completed contracts

This check conflicts with the requirement to not supply destination for SA teachers.

Error 4410

Try the following solution:

Go to Tools / Staff / Pay Related and then Search.

Go into each service term and go to panel 4 (posts)

Check the last column headed SWC Post.  If this is Unassigned double click on it and in the SWC box (last one) use the drop down list to assign a post.

Assign posts as follows:-

If the post description is either Headteacher, Deputy Head or Assistant Head then use the same title as the assignment ie., Headteacher etc.

All NJC or Kent Scheme Salary staff should be assigned as Support Staff UNLESS they are a Teaching Assistant, an HLTA or a Nursery Nurse and then they should be assigned the post of Teaching Assistant.

All other teaching posts should be assigned as Class teacher.

Mismatch in requirements and validation  - (awaiting reply from DCSF)
If a staff has only Service Agreements and one SA has ended in the previous term.
Origin and destination are not applicable for Service Agreement teachers. So, this error will appear always.

"Improvement to Validation and Summary Reports – Import for School Census & Workforce Census Spring 2010 – New Fileset 0029

This fileset (0029) has been provided to make version 1.2 of the DCSF School Census 2010 validation and summary report available to the SIMS system, to make an improvement to a description in the SEN detail report and to prevent problems with running reports that have occurred in a small number of schools. Version 2.10 of the DCSF School Workforce Census Spring 2010 validation is also included for user convenience.

Fileset 0029 also removes the issue introduced by Fileset 0028, which prevented the Summary Report from being run successfully.

Right click on the file 0029-School_Census_and_SWC_Spring_2010_update.mfs and choose Save Target As and browse to a location where you wish to save this file and click on the Save button

Open SIMS and use the route Tools | Setups | Import Fileset in SIMS and browse to the location where you saved the file and click on the Import Fileset button."

SUMMARY REPORT – KENT SCHOOLS

Although the DCSF had asked software suppliers for a Summary Report, this is not available for the January 2010 SWC. Therefore please print each available report, give to the Headteacher to check and sign, and keep these in your office for audit purposes.
