EIS have received a lot of Service Desk calls from primary schools enquiring why, when they run SOLUS, there is no SIMS 2009 August Main Release showing.
The SIMS 2009 August Main Release Upgrade did not include anything which was pertinent to SIMS in primary schools and so it was decided NOT to release it to primary schools generally so as to help reduce the burden of SIMS upgrades that primary schools actually have to do. With this in mind no email was sent to primary schools informing them of this upgrades availability.
Primary schools DO NOT need the SIMS 2009 August Main Release to do the October School Census or School Workforce Census as this functionality was included in the SIMS 2009 June Main Release (Version 7.120) which all primary schools should have done by now as it included functionality for the end of academic year procedures process.
The next SIMS Upgrade that is relevant to primary schools is due out in mid to late October 2009 and EIS will notify schools of its availability once it has been released by Capita CS and tested by EIS.
