EIS Schools who have an active Antivirus contract are entitled to download product updates for the McAfee VirusScan 8.7i software.
In late September 2009, McAfee released Patch 2 for VirusScan Enterprise v8.7i. This is a significant patch which resolves a large number of issues.
EIS urges all schools that have McAfee VirusScan v8.7i installed to update to this patch as soon as possible. It is available from the EIS website here: http://www.eiskent.co.uk/docs/VSE870P2.Zip
In addition, EIS also recommends any school still using VirusScan v7, v8 or v8.5i should upgrade to v8.7i as soon as possible. V8.7i introduces a new technology called Artemis which offers enhanced virus protection.
