For the attention of Head Teacher\SIMS System Manager\Bursar or any Staff responsible for SIMS Dinner Money 7 Module.
Schools NOT using this module DO NOT need to follow this procedure
Further to the issue of information notice number 09-E46 informing schools of the need to update SIMS .net with the new VAT rate to be applied with effect from 1 January 2010, schools using Dinner Money 7 need to follow the additional procedures outlined below.
Schools must complete an authorised banking return for all payments received up to and including 31st December 2009, before the end of December 2009. Dinner Money applies the VAT calculation at the point of banking, so VAT calculation for payments carried over to 2010 unbanked will be based on a 17.5 % rate.
Complete the banking process and authorise the banking for all payments received this term, up to 31/12/2009.
EIS would be grateful if this information could be passed on to the Staff responsible for SIMS Dinner Money 7 as soon as possible.
